Based out of Los Angeles, California, indie rocker's The Growlers employ at atmospheric blend of reverb-laden surf rock, country folk, and classic rock. Formed in 2006, the self described "Beach Goth" project went through numerous personnel changes before settling on the core lineup. They issued their full debut album, Are You In or Are You Out? via Everloving Records in 2009, followed by Hot Tropics EP in 2010. The full-length Hung at Heart arrived in 2013, with Chinese Fountain released the following year on FatCat om the U.K. and Everlong in the U.S. City Club followed in 2016. Now their most recent, Casual Acquaintances, was just released in 2018, has been described as their newfound independence.
