About the Artist:

Based out of Los Angeles, Scorpedos is an indie duo who writes and performs music inspired by sounds of 1970s South-ern California. Jake McGregor and Duz Mancini spent their summers in high school playing music in a vacant bank building on Wilshire blvd. before moving to New Orleans for college.

Between writing sessions at the bank and recording in the valley, night drives through Topanga Canyon fueled song titles and inspired them to crank out a song catalog. The bank became a place for friends and musicians to hang out, light off fireworks, and swap song ideas. What started in LA ventured to New Orleans in different iterations of bands. Coyotes, the first, played for 8 years locally and regionally, opening for acts like Gary Clark Jr., Houndmouth, Dawes, and more.

The band was invited to play at Voodoo Music Experience, Jazzfest, French Quarter Fest and festivals outside of the city. Jake split off to create Gold and the Rush, an indie-americana group built around dueling guitar solos and jangly melodies and endless weekend drives, performing across the region. The two troubadour friends are back in action under the name Scorpedos. “Casamar Hotel” and “Cruisin’”, two debut singles, are slated for release in early spring 2019.
