Soulelujah was started in 2003 as a way for vinyl collectors to share their love of soul music over a few drinks. What started as a small dance party of soul loving people quickly grew, as we found our way into Boston's rock saturated community. Turns out people love dancing to great records, who knew? Currently we operate every Saturday night at the storied Middle East Restaurant and Nightclub in Central Square, Cambridge. On October 13th we will be relocating to The Sinclair in Harvard Square. Each week resident DJ's Ty Jesso, John Funke, Claude Money, Ian Lawrence, RaleighFingers, and Johnny Stevens bring dusty stacks of 45's to play for our crowd. We believe that a strictly vinyl format, specifically 45's, forces us to dig deeper and make interesting choices when it comes to curating an award winning dance party. A solid mix of known and unknown artists, rubbing sonic shoulders, keeps the dance floor moving and educated.
