ARTIST BIO:
Josh Spinner is a breakthrough musician from Chicago who blends elements of Indie Rock, Modern Funk, and Twang Country into a feel-good vibe that audiences say, “brings no need for seats on the main floor.” Currently a music major at University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Josh drives complex jazz guitar influences into a growing repertoire of original songs that capture the mood of the modern music scene. New releases “Sunshower” and “End of Summer” embody Josh’s jazz roots with a harmonious mix of guitar, saxophone, and keyboard melodies, while early songs like “I Feel” and “Out of Line” encourage audiences to explode along with powerful backbeats and rock guitar jams.
Josh writes and performs his original music with the help of producer Alejandro Quiles (a Chicago area native and sound engineering student at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore). His current band is comprised of Alejandro Quiles (Drums & Percussion) and fellow University of Illinois buddy Elijah Hill (Keyboards).
Josh and the band are performing regularly in the Midwest at venues like Schubas Tavern and Subterranean (Chicago), Canopy Club (Champaign-Urbana), and The Winnetka Music Festival (Winnetka, IL). They will be kicking off their summer tour at Lincoln Hall in Chicago this spring, before heading to Los Angeles.
