Aussie soul slinger Kara Grainger is known for her groove-rooted sound & mean slide guitar. Her sultry vocals melt hearts & minds. Kara’s latest CD project, "Living With Your Ghost” produced by New Orleans based Anders Osborne, is due for release on June 1, 2018. It was recorded in Austin, Texas and features blues, folk, some personal introspective songs, funk, and some good ole Rock ‘n Roll! The band included such great musicians as Ivan Neville on keys (which gave the project plenty of New Orleans funk & soul), JJ Johnson on drums and Dave Monsey on bass…an absolute power house rhythm section with an incredible groove. Early in her career, Kara and her brother Mitch formed the band "Papa Lips" which was heavily influenced by New Orleans blues and soul. They toured throughout Australia and produced two albums that received national air play. Kara’s debut solo album "Grand and Green River" received critical acclaim and charted in the Americana top 30 for 38 weeks. Kara made two further albums "LA Blues", paying tribute to Kara's earliest blues inspirations and "Shiver and Sigh" (2013) on Los Angeles record label Eclecto Groove and produced by Grammy award winning producer David Z. This album features some of LA's finest musicians, including Mike Finnigan, Hutch Hutchinson, James Gadson and Kirk Fletcher. Kara has performed at festivals all over world.
